Self-exclusion: taking a real break from gambling
Limits and reminders help while you are still in control. Self-exclusion is for the moment you realise you are not. For readers in Slovenia there are two separate layers, and mixing them up is a common mistake: the national samoprepoved filed through the tax portal, and self-exclusion with each individual operator. Samoprepoved: the Slovenian national scheme
Samoprepoved is Slovenia's national self-exclusion from games of chance. Residents file it through eDavki, the online portal of the Financial Administration (FURS). It lasts from 6 months to 3 years, you pick the period, and it applies across the whole country. FURS describes the scheme on its games of chance pages; read them before applying, because they carry the current procedural details.
Filing it, in outline
Portal menus change from time to time, so we describe the process in general terms rather than inventing field names:
- Log in to eDavki using one of the sign-in methods it supports for individuals.
- Find the self-exclusion (samoprepoved) application in the games of chance area; the portal's search or FURS help will point you to it.
- Choose the duration, anywhere from 6 months to 3 years. If you hesitate, the longer option is usually the safer one.
- Check and submit. Before you do, read when it takes effect and what the rules say about ending it early.
- Save the confirmation and note the expiry date in your calendar.
Where samoprepoved reaches — and where it does not
The scheme is designed for the Slovenian concession system. An operator without a Slovenian concession is not part of that system, so do not expect your account there to close automatically. At the time of writing we could not confirm Spassino as a Slovenian concession holder — the list of concessionaires is public on the Ministry of Finance pages (gov.si – games of chance), so check it yourself.

- Account settings: look for a responsible gaming section with a time-out or self-exclusion option. We cannot state which options Spassino offers or for how long; check your account.
- In writing: if you cannot find the option, email or chat with support and ask clearly for the account to be closed or self-excluded for a set period or permanently. Give your username and the account email.
- Ask for written confirmation and keep it with the date and time.
- Withdraw your remaining balance. Self-exclusion is not a reason for an operator to keep your money.
- Ask about sister brands. One company may run several casinos; ask whether the exclusion covers them as well.

Outside Slovenia
This site is written with Slovenia in mind, but the English version is read elsewhere too. If you live in another country, find out whether it runs a national self-exclusion register and who operates it; the gambling regulator's website is usually the place to start. Where no register exists, operator-level exclusion plus device blocks is the practical combination.
Blocking tools on your own devices
- gambling-site blocking software on your computer and phone;
- content filters in the browser or on your home router;
- a gambling transaction block on your card, if your bank offers one;
- deleting saved cards and stored passwords for gambling accounts;
- unsubscribing from casino marketing emails and text messages.
No block is perfect, but every hurdle stretches the gap between urge and action, and that gap is often where the decision is made.

If you want to return later
An expiry date is not an invitation. Before going back, ask yourself honestly whether the reasons for excluding yourself have gone away. If you do return, start with low deposit and time limits, play only with money you can afford to lose, and never try to win back old losses. If you find yourself wishing the exclusion were longer, extend it.
